Setting Realistic Goals

The next step in your venture towards success is understanding where to place your focus, and how much of it to give. Overestimating yourself can be frustrating, and is in fact, my most commonly regreted action. We, as strong headed have a tendancy to believe we possess more powers than we really do. As much as we all wish we could telepathically read our horses minds and travel through time to get them everything they need, it simply isn't within our mundane limits to do so. That said, where can we pull ideal goals from?

Regardless the level of experience you've reigned in over the years (pun intended), you should always begin with a sure bond with your horse. Know their limits, and their frustrations. What makes them tick, and what makes them whinny? Yes, joining up is a physical acknowledgment of your horse's tight knit relationship with you, but do you understand them well enough to predict a wethering storm in their brilliant little minds before it even occurs?

Finding your drive is an important leap you must make together. Set a goal to work towards that will make you want to leap out of bed the FIRST time your alarm goes off in the morning. There is no such thing as a realistic goal if you don't have a reason to accomplish it. Ensure that you are doing the things you do becasue you love them, and because you want to prosper as an equestrian.
